To make an appointment, please phone the Practice on (02) 9144 6208 or make an instant online booking.

Appointments

Our Standard Appointments are 15 minutes long. However, our primary concern is that the doctor has sufficient time to address your health needs during the consultation, so when booking an appointment please let our receptionists know if you require a longer appointment (e.g. for cervical screens, complex issues or procedures).

As a private service, fees will be charged on consultation. Fees may vary according to the time spent with your doctor and individual doctors consultation fees may also vary. Doctors may charge reduced fees for children, Concession Card holders, Seniors and Pensioners.

All Veterans are bulk billed.

If you are seeing us for the first time, you will need to provide photo identification in addition to your Medicare card. Payment is required at the time of consultation. Debit and credit cards (Mastercard and Visa) are accepted, however, generally, we do not accept cash or cheques (special exceptions may apply). We can lodge your claim with Medicare at the time of payment.

AFTER HOURS
After-hours care for our patients is provided by Home Doctor Service. Please phone 13 74 25 (13 SICK). Home Doctor Service provide us with details of all after-hours treatment to ensure that patient records are always up to date.

Privacy

We are committed to protecting your Privacy. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles to protect the confidentiality of your personal health information. For further information, please speak to your Doctor or the Practice Manager.

Specialist Referrals

Generally, appointments need to be made otherwise a $30 fee (non-rebatable) will be charged before collection. This is only possible if the patient has visited within the last 6 weeks.

Note that it is not essential that you obtain a referral in order to see a specialist, however it is required if you intend to make a Medicare claim.

Test Results

Please make an appointment for test results.

Your doctor will normally advise you when your results are expected to be available and, unless you are advised otherwise, it is important that you make a follow-up appointment with your doctor to discuss the results.

Except in very special circumstances (as determined by your doctor) no results will be discussed over the phone. This is for your privacy and to provide you with the best possible medical care.

Medical Records

A “Patient Summary” can be faxed free of charge, however, if the full record is required, we only send direct to the medical practice or GP via cd/usb.

$55 fee applies. Pre-payment required. We use Best Practice software.

Please contact the practice manager for more information: practice.manager@pymblefamilydoctors.com.au

Note: requests for transfer of medical records must be made in writing, indicating full name, DOB and address. Please mark it attention to the practice manager.

Repeat Prescriptions

Generally, appointments need to be made otherwise a $30 fee (non-rebatable) will be charged before collection. This is only possible if the patient has visited within the last 6 weeks. No pain medication or sleeping tablets prescribed without consultation.

Our doctors usually allow enough repeats on your prescription to last until your next visit. In order to protect your privacy, and to provide you with the best possible medical care, you will need to see a doctor for new prescriptions.

If you require a replacement prescription for one that has been lost, it may be possible to request this over the phone. However, the doctor will not be able to consider your request until the end of the day, so you will need to make an appointment if you need the prescription urgently.

Your Rights

We welcome and value all feedback. If you have a suggestion, problem or complaint, please speak to your doctor or one of our reception staff. Alternatively, you may prefer to contact our Practice Manager.

If you wish to take the matter further, you may contact the Health Care Complaints Commission.
